[Risk] RE: RE: Judge script bugfixes
Hi xs0,

Why do you think so? A deliberate draw only helps the weaker player, and the stronger player should be able to conquer a land in 10 turns, I think... When I play against a computer, I usually win by turn 10 ;) |
Well, when there are 4 players around, 10 turns only give 2 chances of attacking for half the players.
Given a scenery where 2 players are enforcing little positions (say Oceania) to prevent attacks, and the other 2 have spent troops in conquering and fighting, it is very likely that one who wants to attack would need to wait 2 rounds cause targets have more troops in exposed lands (say Siam)...
With the scripts you provide, #1 and #2 usually tend to have only 1 land with all troops (that is (21 + 3*turns) for script #2). It happened to me when I tested new judging that a draw came in. My simple 'Blitz' script had beaten script #3 but didn't know how to attack an isolated land with 60 soldiers, and another one with 43, when my biggest force was of 18 soldiers... Well I admit my Blitz is rather dumb... but #1 and #2 are obvious and yet they got a draw.
Anyway, that gives place to another strategy: to try to draw when you are being overhelmed. That's fine for me.
