Scoring doubts & example (REVISED)

:_( Sorry, I put a 2-letters word... now it is OK.

"add the points up for each letter in a word. Then square the sum of the letters. Finally, add together all the squares to get a total for the board"

Sorry, Matt, each time I read this I understand it in a new way...

Let's try it with a sample, please:

+------
|dumb
|u
|bob
+------

There are three words: "dumb, dub, bob"...

I get 2+1+3+3=9 points for 'dumb'. Then I "square the sum of the letters" 9^2=81

Then for 'dub': (2+1+3)^2=36.

Then add (3+1+3)^2=49 for 'bob'.

Total 81+36+49=166 points.

OK, I think I got it now. I was messing with squares (^2) and the squares on the board.

RE: Scoring doubts & example

As far as I can see, you're right. That's the way to calculate your number of point.

RE: Scoring doubts & example

doesn't it say that there will be 3 to 6 letter words only??

so, 'bo' wouldn't count!!
