Scoring specifics

Ok, so I move a card from stock to tableau. In my code, I immediately add 5 to score. The very next function call may move the same card to a foundation and I immediately add 10 to score... To me, this seems completely by the rules and makes the whole idea of moving a card from stock to tableau mute. Am I missing something?

RE: Scoring specifics

I'm not sure what you are getting at.

Yes, what you explained is true. You move a card from stock to tableau and you get 5 points. You move a card from tableau to foundations and you get 10 points.

How does that make moving a card from stock to tableau mute?

RE: Scoring specifics

I think he means the idea of moving a card from stock to foundation.

stock->foundation = 10 tp
stock->tableau = 5 tp
stock->tableau->foundation = 15 pt

you can almost always move cards from the stock to the tableau and after that to the foundation.

it's arguably better to get 15 pt's for moving a card from stock to foundation.

just my 2ct's

RE: Scoring specifics

Moot....mute.... darn spell checkers when are they going to know what I mean instead of what I wrote....?

Anyway, yes I do mean that if I can get 15 points for moving a card from stock to tableau and then immediately to foundation I'd much rather do that than get 10 pts for a straight stock to foundation move. I am assuming that the score can be chalked-up immediately and that to get the extra 5 points there doesn't have to be any other moves between the move from stock to tableau and then the move from tableau to foundation. That's what I need to know... that way I know which way to go in the code.

Thanks,

Yes, it is completely legal to move a card from stock to tableau and gain 5 points, then immediately move it to the foundation on the next move which gives 10 more points.
