[Spades] Partners Bidding
What happens if one partner bids nil or double nil, and the other partner bids a number?

[Spades] RE: Partners Bidding
The partner bidding nil must take 0 tricks that game. If he doesn't, his team loses 100 points. It doesn't matter if his overall team tricks are equal to or greater than their bids. Also, none of the nil-partner's tricks can be applied to cover the bid, but they are counted when assigning bags. Examples:
A - nil, takes 0 tricks B - 5, takes 6 tricks They get 151 points and 1 bag (100 for the nil, 51 for the bid, and 1 bag for going over the bid). A - nil, takes 2 tricks B - 5, takes 4 tricks They get -150 points and 1 bag (-100 for the nil, -50 for the missed bid, and 1 bag for going over the bid). |

[Spades] RE: Partners Bidding
Stapr's explanation is correct, except that they get 2 bags in the second case - each trick taken when playing nil gives a bag. So, in the weird case:
A - nil, takes 5 tricks B - 5, takes 0 tricks they'd get -150 points and 5 bags. |

[Spades] RE: Partners Bidding
that probably means you don't want your failed nil bid to try and take tricks even to set the opponents because it may set it's partner as well which is counter to most spade rules. In any event, as long as we all know the rules it's fiar as can be expected.
