A revelation! I suddenly agree/see where Cow is coming from!

This post goes back to PostalCows pasture about licencing computer users...

I've just realised - I work in a school (as a techie, and also a student), they teach ICT... students learn how to create databases, spreadsheets, do wonderful things with powerpoint - i've even been asked to explain PHP to some kids, and i'm doing a CCNA and Oracle course there too!

Never once have I been taught to read the Security Dialogs that pop up when you visit less-than-reptuable websites (and click "No" practically every time!)... never once have I been told that the Preview Pane on Outlook is deadly - I should check attachments & email senders, and how to identify spam from the subject line. I havn't even been told (and I'm sure many of my Female friends havn't either) that the chain letters to help a poor sick boy in America REALLY CANT be traced by AOL and REALLY WONT provide any support for this kid, even if he did exsit!

I have to say, this should be taught as soon as any kid sits down on the computer and starts to use the internet! Fine, they can't do much damage in School - everythings locked down... but as soon as they get home... *BOOM*.

therefore, I believe PostalCow is right - Internet Users should be licenced... perhaps in the form of a short test completed when they first log on - made by the ISP, or as an official certificate given out in Cyber Cafes...

I want one of those cool bar codes tattooed on the back of my neck like Jessica Alba in Dark Angel. Everyone who gets licensed should do the same! Psych!
