here, let me patch that up for you

It reflects bad for microsoft to have the holes plus on top of that add several patches. I think Microsoft was just trying to make some money off their new OS. I know that some companyies have software problems and have to patch a few things up, but a huge company like Microsoft should do better than this. Right Postal a few patches is understandable. So they plan that their patches may not work, hummm... After years at this game you think that if there is a need for a patch then they would make one that works. 22 in a package. Humm... the "average" user might think, "Wow! It has so many I must get it!", but that seems like a few too many patches. Humm... As long as Microsoft learns from this and does a big crack down on security and other problems, including any problems that may arise, then it will help thier credibiliy. But, after all, these are humans programing it and humans are bound to mistake, so not every eventuality will be seen. Also though as seeing Microsoft has mega oodles of dollors they could hire (or make 0.o) some super intelligent gorrilla or alien or something. Well maybe not.

I'm sorry I missed that. What is the deal with Bill getting assimilated by the Borg? And if he did I think that this might cover it. If he has the Borg working for Microsoft then maybe thier colective power can fix the problems (or blast and assimilate all who dare oppose Microsoft). Well that... what are you doing!!.... we are Borg.

Who still puts up with Windows?

funny how people are still putting up with inferior software like Windows.

Maybe they havent gotten the fact that there are other OSes like LINUX or the Mac to choose from or they have no clue that you dont have to be a conformist.

People are plain stupid when it comes to this area of expertise.

Its good that one company doesnt make everything in the world or the world would be really drab and bug infested.

I think the OS world needs more competition. That way more software developers might leave M$ WinDo$e and start develop software for other platforms too. Plus, if people had more choises to choose from, that'd create a feature competition between OS's. Who would win? IMHO the one with the least bugs. Even MS could begin making REALLY safe and stable software.

RE: here, let me patch that up for you

I use Windows because of software availability. You may see something for Mac/Windows and LINUX/Windows. But most stuff has a least a Windows version. It is the same reason I have a Play Station 2. It has more of a company base than the other systems. The XBox may have some better hardware, but it does not have games like PS2 has. There is nothing wrong with Game Cube, but the number of games is limited. You also have to take into account quality and quantity. Quantity does not mean quality, but the higher the quantity the more likely it is to have quality. It is like you have an ultra 62 inch plasma TV, but all you have is one dvd for it. You have an exelent TV but your usage of it is limited becuase of what you have.

RE: here, let me patch that up for you

I really really pity everyone who doesn't use Linux as their everyday OS, bar such activities as gaming where the software is more widely available for Windows.

Just the other week I was in a PC software store, and they had one little section for Mac. And nothing of course for Linux. Sourceforge is probably Linux's software shop. :-/

But Linux rocks. If you learn how to use it, you can ditch Windows! Even if you don't want Linux, get the hell out of Windows and Microsoft's grip - get a Mac!
