Laptops In School

I am a sophmore at Mission Viejo High School and am envolved in the E-Core program.
The E-Core program is where you use a laptop in your core classes, English, History, and Science.
I personaly love this program, but dispise of some of the teachers. The teachers that were hired to the E-Core classes are some of the dumbest people on computers int he universe, one of them couldnt change an ink cartrage.

I feel that technology should be more involved in schools around the world. Granted the only things i have learned in these E-Core classes technology releated were all learned without the teachers help and not encouraged by the school ;)

If i had not learned about computers on my own, where do you think i would be today???

I think that its crazy to get rid of technology in school, we want the future generations to learn how to code games and programs and make advanced webpages!

So, learn it on your own! Why should my tax dollars pay for you to learn how to do things that are not encouraged by the school? I don't even want to pay for your schooling so that you can learn the three R's, let alone so that you can learn technology. You say that "we want the future generations to learn how to code games and programs and make advanced webpages!". Sorry, but almost all of your good game and program coders (and web programmers) did not learn their skill in school. They learned it on there own, because they love what they do.

If you want to learn technology, great. Learn it. Just don't make me pay for it! Next people will be saying that I should be paying for some kids training to become a mechanic. Oh crap, I already do don't I? I don't like that either. These kids should learn their trades the old way. Get a job being the gopher boy at the shop and learn by example.

That's the problem today, too many people think that it is societies job to teach the kids. It isn't! It is a parent's responsiblity. Ohh, so some kids are too poor to afford to go to school? Yep, that's the line that got all us tax payers paying for everyone's school. Well, it may sound mean, but it ain't my problem!

If we as tax payers stopped paying for so much crap for other people's kids, maybe they would stop having them when they can't afford them. Instead, we give these "poor" people more and more money the more kids they have. Yet these same "poor" people can afford to buy booze and drugs and have a killer sound system in their car.

Wow...I'd better get to bed....rambling a bit...
