RE: Microsoft Bashing is Righteous!
Codebear,
Short explaination, just how is MS taking money from the schools? Is this a part of the 1.4 Billion dollars that the Gates Foundation is providing to schools and libraries (free via grants) nationwide for educational enhancements ?? |

RE: RE: Microsoft Bashing is Righteous!
"Short explaination, just how is MS taking money from the schools?"
Fact: The Seattle School District alone loses millions of dollars to corruption even without Bill Gates' help. In fact, corruption is rampant in public schools across America. Thus, if Bill Gates was REALLY interested in improving education, wouldn't he address administrative corruption before giving BILLIONS of dollars to ADMINISTRATORS? It doesn't make sense - unless you think of public education as organized crime. And that's a pretty good description. So we have a corrupt corporation giving over $1 billion to corrupt school districts, with no questions asked - by virtually no one. Seem suspicious? And consider this: Teachers and students are forced to submit to ever stricter and more ridiculous corporate "standards." But what yardstick do we use to measure school officials' performance? Teachers unions? Just joking - they get a free ride. Similarly, how do we measure the effectiveness of Bill Gates' - *cough* - "philanthropy"? Can you tell me exactly where the money's going? Can you tell me how it has helped anything? Can you explain why the Seattle School District is still deteriorating? The picture becomes much clearer if you do your homework and begin connecting the dots. I've already mentioned the K-12 Leadership Institute. (I'm not sure if it still exists even; the Seattle Times stopped yapping about it a couple years ago. The jerk who sent me the computer virus used to work for the corporate media (Seattle Times and Seattle Weekly.) He and his wife now work for Microsoft. He's also involved with Town Hall, one of the "Seattle Mafia's" biggest propaganda centers. In fact, most of Seattle's elite are somehow connected to Microsoft and/or Paul Allen. They really do run this city. The Seattle School District has become little more than a marketing agent for Microsoft, the Mariners and other corporate thugs. You might also read up on a concept called "conflict of interest." When someone "donates" money to an organization they profit from, you have to be suspicious. It's kind of like Haliburton raking in cash while U.S. soldiers are dying in Iraq. Similarly, Bill Gates is raking in money and public relations while children are being ground up in the system. "Is this a part of the 1.4 Billion dollars that the Gates Foundation is providing to schools and libraries (free via grants) nationwide for educational enhancements ??" LOL. One billion dollars wouldn't even begin to cover the money lost to corruption - something Bill Gates doesn't seem to care about. Why do you suppose that is? You want specifics? Glad you asked. $1.4 billion adds up to roughly $20 million per state. The Seattle School District alone lost over $30 million on its latest big scandal (that was reported). They lost $25 million on "dumb lawsuits," according to the great John Stanford - who starred in one of the dumbest. (I was in the courtroom owhen he testified.) And how much money to do you suppose Bill Gates gets from the Seattle School District alone? We're talking about roughly 100 schools, each filled with Microshaft computers. If each school gave him a lousy $10,000, that would add up to $1 million. Add up the school districts across Washington State, and Bill Gates is probably getting a nice return - on top of his tax write-offs. Some "philanthropy." |

"So Gates is responsible for the corruption is all our schools. Guess we could blame MS for world poverity while were at."
I never said that - not even close. Public education was being exploited by corporations long before Bill Gates came along, with his silver spoon dangling from his mouth. But Bill Gates has contributed to the corruption. It's also extremely interesting that a man who claims to be interested in helping public education could be so oblivious to the biggest problems in our schools. Let's use some common sense. If you had $1 billion to donate, would you give it to the Seattle School District, knowing that they lose and embezzle tens of millions of dollars a year? Come on, even Bill Gates can't be that stupid. And how is it that all the money they lose is TAX DOLLARS. If they care more about Bill Gates than the parents who entrust their children to them, then maybe they should find a new line of work. ME: "The jerk who sent me the computer virus used to work for the corporate media (Seattle Times and Seattle Weekly.) He and his wife now work for Microsoft. He's also involved with Town Hall, one of the "Seattle Mafia's" biggest propaganda centers." YOU: "Must be a conspricy against you." Well, they obviously weren't targeting Ralph Nader - DUH. "This dribble really is getting out of hand. I say take your meds, get some sleep and find another cause to fight." I say your cheap propaganda techniques are ineffective against me. I've been politically involved for the better part of a decade, I've created websites and ran for public office three times. I've heard every stupid argument that can be mustered by Seattle's brain-dead liberals and right-wing religious kooks alike. If you're so passionate about defending the powerful Microsoft from me, why don't you do some research and create a pro-Microsoft website. My anti-Microsoft website will be online soon, and it will take you forever to catch up - assuming you can think up some intelligent arguments to entertain your visitors with. |

RE: Microsoft Bashing is Righteous!
Whether one agrees or disagrees with the merits or the lack thereof, one thing is for sure: Microsoft and Bill Gates are here to stay. Don't believe me? Just ask the 5 big IT heavy hitters including IBM that filed a class action against him. For all intents and practical purposes, they lost! Besides what other company can introduce a product prematurely full of holes and still make kizillions off of it? MicroSuck...umm...excuse me...did i say that?

You never know. Bill Gates may have America bullied, but he doesn't own the world. I predict he'll get his butt kicked in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America, largely reducing his empire to the United States. And Bill Gates and George W. Bush together could finish off America itself. It's a grand chess game, and Bill Gates could surprise us by doing something intelligent for a change (but certainly nothing ethical). But I'm not content to sit back and watch it happen. It would be so much more exciting if people joined forces and made it happen a lot sooner. |

RE: Microsoft Bashing is Righteous!
Well, postalcow has at the very least made a valid point. An interesting counter point is this:
If companies didn't have to waste tons of money on M$ licenses and all the wasted hours of labor in handling crappy M$ software behavior, perhaps it would grossly out weigh the amount that M$ actually contributes to the world economy. I say let's try it! We have - we run only open source and non-M$ commercial products. Guess what we do fine. Our servers NEVER go down, we spend no time troubleshooting stupid problems, so we actually get real work done. Result - our company has existed for many years profitably. Try it out - be M$ free! |
