RE: MikeRoweSoft.com

I can assure you the only thing that intimidates me is not knowing when I will die, and not having the oppurtunity to do all the things I want to do in life. Another persons opinions are in no way intimidating, unless you are insecure with yourself. Are you?

RE: RE: MikeRoweSoft.com

"MS would have his ***** hung on Gates office wall."

Wow, you sound like a really angry person.

"And as for Codebear's ranting, you and your ilk are giving the Northwest a bad reputation."

I think you have me confused with Gary Locke and Greg Nickels.

"I am almost certain you are not a native of Wash state. Where did migrate from? You will never represent me, a born and raised WA. resident, with your ignorant socialist agenda and heart full of hate."

I wouldn't want to represent you. Nothing personal, but I really can't stand selfish people like you.

"You may have the approval of your Volvo driving, latte drinking, tofu eating, hemp smoking, sandal wearing peer group..."

Oops, sorry...I thought you were talking to me earlier. (Who ARE you talking to???)

"...but when you claim to represent anyone but your self, you display nothing less then your arrogant elitism and selfish intolerance. I bet you don't tolerate intolerance, do you?"

Huh???

"This site is for innovative, creative, and insightful thought..."

So why did they publish that aricle about Mike Rowe - the article I mentioned in my first post, which brought all the Microsoft whores out of the woodwork? And while we're on the subject, why are there so many Microsoft fanatics on a PHP site??? Is this some sort of political stunt or WHAT?

"...not a forum for you to push your failed socialist, workers world party, bullsh*t."

Failed? Actually, they gave us the 40-hour work week, overtime pay, labor unions and a lot more. So what have you done for society lately?

"So codebear, here is a tip from me to you, if you do run for public office, run in China where you will be welcomed."

Sorry, I don't speak Chinese. Neither does your friend Gary Locke!

Uh, yeah...I ran for public office because I'm insecure with myself.

Your singular obsession with me is flattering, but it's also very revealing. Enjoy your next hamburger!

RE: Microsoft.com

Let's see what we have learned from this sage called codebear...

He hates the "corrupt media, George Bush and Microsoft."

Knows more than you because he is "A former teacher and a political activist."

Doesn't know or care where Ground Zero is, "I live near Ground Zero, and I can tell you lots of stories about Bill Gates."

Starts his posts with "Don't EVEN get me started!"

Is opposed to "civility."

Is a great guy because "Attacking corruption IS positive!"

Loves the "American Socialist and labor movements."

Thinks that assault is good when its someone he dislikes "Remember that pie Bill Gates got in the face? That was funny."

Supports small business "After all, Microsoft is a MONOPOLY."

Is an investigative reporter "When I discovered that Bill Gates was running the school district, I wasn't terribly pleased."

Will keep you safe "it's about national security - on several different levels, from security flaws to Big Brother."

Once again knows more than you "Look at George W. Bush - one of Bill Gates' best friends."

Believes you are stupid "Americans are frighteningly uninformed and apathetic."

Believes that all schools should use Macs "Microsoft has blackmailed more than 500 public schools."

Is better than you because he is a "Seattleite who has campaigned against Microsoft. That's what makes people like me so special."

Has a cause "activist who uses the political arena to advance the cause."

Is angry because his friend "worked for companies that Microsoft has attacked."

Knows what is good for your kids "my biggest issue is education reform, and one of the biggest culprits is Bill Gates."

And knows what is good for you "it would probably be best if you stuck with hamburgers and Trojans and left the politics to me."

Believes his world is better then yours "Sheez, I'm glad you don't live in Seattle."

... OK, enough?

...Oh yeah, he likes to quote responses to his posts.

RE: MikeRoweSoft.com

Man you guys are tough...

Codebear, everyone is entitled to their opinion and political arena. However, if I might suggest, read

http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/breaking_news/7901637.htm

then evaluate where you put your energy. I am no way a socilist and do not care for their outlook (personal opinion). But I do believe that if anyone really wants to take a political stand, especially someone considering running for office, they should give strong consideration to what is now happening with our freedom of speech.

Thanks for the tip, but I already read that; it was posted on the forums at Democratic Underground.

I'm well aware of what's happening to our freedom of speech - I worked in public education, remember? One of the reasons I speak out so forcefully is the fact that I was DENIED free speech in the public eduation arena, of all places. My free speech has also been stepped on when I ran for public office.

I don't put up with that crap. I responded by launching a website and running for public office. No one's going to take away my free speech.

Incidentally, you might want to examine who's taking away our free speech. Obviously, the government. But let's not forget that the government is run by corporations. Microsoft (among others) doesn't like to be criticized, so it chips away at our first amendment rights.

"I am no way a socilist and do not care for their outlook (personal opinion)."

I'm not a socialist, either. I ADMIRE "socialism" very much. The quotations indicate a broad definition that includes social justice. It's truly amazing how much "socialists" did for this country. They also fascinate me because of the power they wielded at one time.

Today, we have two political parties of any substance. Both are hopelessly corrupt and aren't doing a darn thing to protect free speech.

But generations ago, millions of Americans united under the Socialist banner, and they kicked ***. Of course, they got their ***** kicked, too. The government (again, working for Big Business) murdered many of them. But they persevered, and they changed this country for the better.

Thanks. I wasn't aware I had used any "bad language." Feel free to post a sample (or e-mail it to me), so I can know what your standards are.

Oh, wait - I see the asterisks in my last post. Nevermind.

Thanks for allowing me to tout socialism and others to tout corporate corruption.

Has anyone read about home Depot sueing to take homedepotsucks.com offline. Yeh they are actually in court over this. Now if that is not a danger to free speech I am not sure what is!

RE: MikeRoweSoft.com

The problem is not with their site, even though it is full of a bunch of tree hugging hippie crap. The problem is slander and lies. You can not make up lies to push your political agenda and ruin a ligitimate business because they don't agree with someones wacko politics.

RE: MikeRoweSoft.com

The key word is SATIRE. It's a very respectable American tradition and has long been protected speech.

Now, if someone crosses the line and engages posts material that might be considered libelous, then the victim obviously has every right to go to court. But libel generally has to be fairly specific. If I said, "Bill Gates stole $50,000 from a bank," he could sue me for libel. If I said, "Gates has effectivly stolen millions of dollars from the very schools he donates money to," Gates wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

One might also get away with a statement that's clearly outrageous or humorous: The only thing Bill Gates ever invented that didn't suck was a vaccum cleaner.
