1) did this thing with your arm really happen?

sorry for questioning you, but that whole story sounds like a script for a bad movie gag comedy..

if that is all true, than all i can say is "ouch"..

2) do you want to say that only like 3% of the messages on that server are NOT spam?!?

this is worse than i thought..

and btw, i didn't get that last bit about Kerry, but never mind me.. ;)

RE: ouch

To addup, some important mails get marked as Junk by the Junk filters. It has happened to me on many occasion as I have to atleast read the Subject of all mails (Junk+Important) inorder to avoid loss of important emails. But thats hell out of a lot of emails to read. But have no option. can't blame the Junk filters. They are 80% accurate according to what I have experienced..

RE: ouch

We have more or less fixed the problem here. We just put in a filter that ONLY allows through emails that are on a 'pass'...so naturally our IT guy has spent a bit of time going through the stuff that didn't get passed on to build that filter...but now that it's built, about 10% of the incoming mail gets delivered, and nobody has spam in the company. Very nice. Also has the side benefit of eliminating the outside sources of virii, porn, and really crummy jokes - or it lets us read them first. ;)

RE: ouch

i consider even some of the e-mails received from friends as SPAM. anywho i agree with cow, i've been saying it for a while "spam isn't going anywhere"

although i get a distinct feeling that computers/internet are about to take a drastic change.

RE: ouch

cow, sorry to hear about your arm, hope it gets better. I remember my dad building me one of those.... I think the only thing he did was hit my grandmother upside the head with a 2x4.... She was helping too... It was a rather amusing project.

And zombie, for the kerry joke, I thinks its a play off of his horribly misshapen face

RE: ouch

Sorry to hear about your injury. But look at the bright side of it, you may become ambidextrous. I messed up my arm too and look, I now I can switch hands and gain a stroke. ;) Great to have you back. I missed your commentary and incite. OK, the humor too, you horse faced handi-hack.

Here is my recommendation for avoiding spam, KEEP THE WIFE AWAY FROM YOUR COMPUTER.

Great to have you back,

RE: ouch

Ouch... ! That's got to hurt....

Reminds me of a friend. On his usual morning surf he got dumped and dislocated his shoulder. He said he felt okay that this point and thought the situation was recoverable. Until the surf board returned and shattered the socket. The man is now an expert on all things pain killing.

SPAM will never go away, we'll just create new ways to avoid it. Then when the spammers work out how to get around the new methods, we'll create some more ... and the cycle will start over.

Unless the computer can think for you and decide what you would consider spam at that point in time and in that mood, then the spam assassin programs will never be totally effective.
