consulting and PEAR
I was wondering what I'm allowed to advertise, if anything, as PEAR being a feature to ensure my web apps will for the client. Should I just say I can provide database abstraction? Or can actually say that the apps utilize PEAR and its functionality? Was just wondering because I know it can be a bit different with open source and GPL... I'm not really selling the applications but my "services." Was just wondering what is the correct way of handling this.
Thanks in advance. |

RE: consulting and PEAR
I was just wondering if I'm explaining the features of my application to someone, am I allowed to specifically say the "PEAR"'s features allow for database abstraction? Am I able to use the name selling selling my software or does that break it's license being an open source project?
Hope that made more sense |

RE: consulting and PEAR
My thought would be that since PEAR uses the same liscense as PHP, consider this: Do people advertise that they develop in PHP? Sure they do, so the same rules apply for PEAR.
I see your concern, but when you think of it this way, everything falls into place. |
