installing PEAR on XP

I just got PHP today and tried installing PEAR on my XP machine using go-pear.bat . But there seems to be a time limit on my input. I keep getting:

PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 60 seconds exceeded

Is this some strange joke on users, that we have to answer the questions in 60 seconds or we lose?

Check out your php.ini settings - I beleive there is one that sets max execution time... don't forget to restart the server.
