PEAR creating charts from Excel

Is it possible to generate/output a chart from PEAR during the creation of an excel spread sheet. I searched the forums, but could not find any reference to this issue

No, charts are not supported by Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer.

Using Image_Graph, writing the output into a file, and putting it into the Excel file would maybe be an alternative solution

Sorry to be a first time poster bumping an old topic, but is it possible at all to create a native excel chart or graph?

It is my understanding that Image_Graph makes an image and inserts it into the spreadsheet.

Not with this package. (And no, I don't know any other package for this purpose.)
