Voting script?

hi there. i am building a simple website that links to (not hosts) free downloads. I am looking for a script that will allow users to vote for the downloads and then have them sorted by rating with say ten to a page. i am looking in to pligg. does anybody know of an easier way to do this, my coding skills are weak and i have only really ever worked with javascript.
any info much appreciated.
