RE: CHECKBOX_MULTIPLE ENTRIES IN DATABASE
At first look, I would say that you need to have different "names" on your check boxes. I'm not sure of the order, but You're either getting a form variable "groupID" = 1 or "groupID" = 3. If you don't want to let them be a student "and" a professor, then you'll probably want to use radio buttons.

RE: CHECKBOX_MULTIPLE ENTRIES IN DATABASE
You should have a submit button below your checkboxes that sends the form contents to a script that updates the database, e.g.
<form action="update.php" method="post"> <input type="checkbox" name="check1" value="1"> Student<br> <input type="checkbox" name="check2" value="1"> Professor<br> . . . <input type="submit" value="Update!"> </form> if you want to update the DB without having to hit a button, you must use javascript. |
