I don't know if you do this around here, but I have a situation. I have no experience in PHP but need the following.

A script that would read upcoming events from a file (off a format that is easy) and then send the events that will occur in the next 7 days to a text file. (http://www.hurlstone.com.au/scrolltext.txt) Go to www.hurlstone.com.au, I would like the events listed in the scrollbar up the top. If you can't help, maybe you could refer to someone who can, it is for the school website and I haven't a clue how to do it.

RE: Request

I dont think you are going to find people that are willing to do entire projects for free..although, if you go here http://www.php.net and read the manual and learn how to do it yourself, we are more than willing to help you with any problems you have on your way..

RE: Request

I understand. How much effort would something like this take. I don't see the point in learning PHP if I am only ever going to use it once.

RE: Request

Java is beyond the scope of this msg board (you are familiar with scope, right?). Probably one of two things is going on here:
A) Your a math teacher at this school. In which case you should know better.
B) Your a over-achieving student at this school. In which case, you should learn how to this yourself.

Sorry for the tuff-love but hey gotta draw the line somewhere.

RE: Request

No... It's a function that amongst other things allows you to read from files...
