Some PHP scripts are parsed... others aren't.
This one blew the top off the WTF-o-meter.
Just a few minutes ago, I got fed up with constant PHP script problems, even after turning off the error messages. Copy/pasting some of the more complex script examples from codewalkers.com let forth a never ending stream of parse errors and the like. So, I download the latest version of Apache, rip *EVERYTHING* out, and reinstall it all. Apache, PHP, MySQL, and PERL. I also noticed I missed a large chunk of the PHP installion - enabling all the extensions in the "extensions" directory! Ack! Now, not only do the scripts that previously didn't work display the exact same errors, but my PHP forums have crapped out as well. Some scripts, like index.php for PHPBB appear to work perfectly, while the same script designed to use VBulletin doesn't execute at all, it just displays the contents of the PHP file as plain text. I have absolutely no idea what I've forgotten to configure. This problem is driving me nuts. Thanks in advance. |

What i suggsest:
1. Get Totally Pissed/Drunk/Sloshed (what ever u call it) 2. Wait till you sober up 3. remove php and apache from your HD 4. slowly reinstall apache and php, this time thinking what your actually doing. Works everytime |

Did that, went back to Apache 1. Now only select scripts work, some claim they don't exist, and others still aren't parsed.
Where's Matt? He could probably sort this out in seconds. |

Yes. Standard *.PHP.
How could the first installation work (more or less), and this one not? |

Nevermind... I fixed it.
Ripped EVERYTHING out, installed in this order: Apache *Reboot* PERL *Reboot* MySQL *Reboot* Install MySQL Service *Reboot* Install and configure PHP *Reboot* |
