RE: can anyone help install php&mysql

You're going to have to be a bit more clear about the problem. I use WAMP5 so I know a little about the config.

What are you asking?
- WAMP is an exe installer. It does the basic PHP/MySQL/Apache installation itself.

- If you have an old mySQL database and you want to use it in this installation, why not run a mysql dump (go to http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ and select your database and export the tables) and then use it to create those tables in the Wamp installed version of MySQL. I know there are other ways but Ive found this to be the most fool proof.

- If your scripts were made for a different version of php you may have to change your httpd.config and php.ini accordingly

well as it is clearly stated above, it's better you go for WAMP:
http://www.wampserver.com/en/index.php

this will do everything for you....
