configure: error: libpng.(a|so) not found (OS/X)

First off, let me say that I did read the post below this one, but to no avail. I am running OS/X 10.3.4 and trying to install PHP 4.3.7 w/ GD support. I've installed libjpeg, libtiff, libjpg, zlib and GD successfully via Fink (or so I can tell). When I try to configure PHP, I get the error: configure: error: libpng.(a|so) not found.

I've specified --with-libjpeg=/sw (as well as trying /sw/lib) and the same for libjpg and libtiff, but I keep getting the same error. The config script find GD just fine, but not libjpeg or libpng, although I know the files are where I'm telling the script.

Anyone know what might be going on?

I'm pretty sure I installed libgif and some dependencies along with that.
