Help total php newbie

hi i'm trying to install some stuff om my pc in order to learn a few bits.

I'm installing:
Apache - works ok
Activeperl - works ok
php 5.0.4 - does not work

I've have tried the very few things I know but unfortunately nothing has worked.

If anyone can help me to get php working then i would be real grateful.

Please be very specific and where possible assume I know nothing (as i don't)

did you config the apache config file?

if not thats your problem.
