http://arg works , http://arg/index.php doesn't

I just formatted my HD, and reinstalled IIS, PHP, MySQL. I copied my php.ini back from my old installation and copied my scripts back into the proper directories. I set up IIS for PHP, put .php to c:phpphp.exe in the home directory/app mappings and index.php in the default documents. When I go to http://arg (arg being my local pc) it executes index.php and works fine. When I go to http://arg/index.php I get the bad header message. These scripts are all working fine on my server at work and used to work at home before I formatted and reinstalled. What setting could I possibly have missed?
