Hi ladies and gents
can any1 refer to any simple tutorials to follow to setup mysql, apache and php on Windows 2000

As tirdun said it is quite simple process.
First install Apache server and see if it works (this is done usually by typing http://127.0.0.1/ into your browser). Then install php and make a simple php script to test it. Then goes mysql. You can test it either from shell or try to connect to it through php. All steps are described in installation guides which come with the programs.
