Installing PEAR with MAMP Pro (Mac OS X)

Hello,

I recently purchased MAMP Pro, and i am pretty sure PEAR is not up to date, but I am having numerous problems trying to update, i cannot seem to add packages with xml 2.0 or something.

Is there a way I can install a fresh copy of PEAR 1.6.0 with all the necessary files to my Mac with my MAMP Pro, is there any way I can install one file that will put my PEAR up to date.. and I would like to get the Mail_Mime package to work.

Thanks,
Jake.

I am assuming that the pear installer for mamp works the same as in any other OS - you need to go to the command line and try to install there. wouldn't surprise me if you just need to update your pear installer.

I can't remember the command for it off my head - but if you go to install a package - it will tell you. Also - have you contacted the MAMP people/company for help?
