Needing help trying to get PHPCHATOPEN installed...Getting error: (something to do w/) POC database schema checked
I have a website that is being hosted by Godaddy.com. I am trying to install PHPCHATOPEN on my website. I went into the Hosting Manager in my Godaddy.com account and created a MySQL database (This is all that I have done here...I did not go into the MyPHPAdmin and create or do anything). I then went and ran the TEST.PHP script (which is located at: www.OWLS-4U.com/phpopenchat/test.php .... PLEASE CONSIDER clicking on this link...so that you can go to this site and look at the exact error if you would like). After the TEST.PHP script runs I get the following results:
---------------------------------------------------- Check Status POC-Database: POC-Tables: POC database schema checked <<<<<THIS IS MY PROBLEM POC-Templates: tried to open templates in '/phpopenchat/include/templates/openchat' Webserver write access in /home/content/b/j/h/bjhowerton/html/phpopenchat/tmp: The temporary directory, where the webserver MUST have write access, is defined as 'TMPDIR' in config.inc.php If you have setup the rights for 'TMPDIR' to full read and write access (Unix 'chmod 777') but the test shows even so red, your ISP has switched on 'safe_mode' or has defined 'open_basedir' within the PHP configuration file (php.ini). open_basedir, if set, limits all file operations to the defined directory. Webserver write access in /home/content/b/j/h/bjhowerton/html/phpopenchat/include/templates/openchat/images/icons/chatter: Each chatter has the possibility to upload a private icon, which he can use within the chat. So, the webserver needs write access to this directory to store private images. If you see always green, all is fine, login. If you see red, please: <<<<<THIS IS MY PROBLEM...above I got RED beside (((((these words: POC database schema checked ))))) Import the POC database tables Open a command-shell and do a: # mysqladmin create poc # mysql poc < /path/to/poc/db.schema First point only, if you want to have the POC-SQL-tables in a separat tablespace. In the most cases, user have already such a tablespace and there are no problems to import POC-SQL-tables into this tablespace. ---------------------------------------------------- I do not know what it is that I am supposed to do with this code/error to make this block of red turn green. I can tell you that I have a LINUX hosting account, Godaddy.com supports PHP. I am using Cute FTP. I am editing my webpages in Macromedia Dreamweaver ver 8. My computer operating system is Microsoft Windows XP: Home Edition. Above in the directions (if you go the RED)...it says to import the POC database tables. What tables is it talking about??? Was I supposed to create these tables??? Where do they come from??? How do I find them??? Next, it says: Open a command-shell and do a: # mysqladmin create poc # mysql poc < /path/to/poc/db.schema What is it talking about??? How do you open up a command shell...and I don't have a clue what the rest of that means??? Could someone please take a look at this website and the problem signified by the red block and tell me what I need to do next??? Could you please be very specific in you instructions so that I don't have to bother you with this again??? Thank you BHowerton |
