RE: Noob trying to install a simple news php

Sounds to me like your server does not have php configured or installed properly. What host are you using? And did they tell you that they have php installed? I think I would check their site or talk to customer support to see if they have it installed.

To see if you have php on your server... copy and paste this script into a file named phpinfo.php, upload it to your web host, run it, and see if a whole bunch of information comes up...
php Code:
Original - php Code
  1.
  2. <html>
  3.     <head>
  4.         <title>PHP INFO</title>
  5.     </head>
  6.     <body>
  7.         <?php
  8.             phpinfo();
  9.         ?>
  10.     </body>
  11. </html>
