Opinions Needed: MyAdmin v. MySQL

Greetings all,

I wasn't exactly sure where to place this, but this forum seemed to suite it best.

I'm mainly asking for user opinions on the pros and cons of using phpMyAdmin to manage MySQL databases and such, or just straight up using MySQL to manage databases.

The reason I ask is because I've recently passed the newbie line and am getting into the moderate stages of using MySQL and PHP without newbie stuff, which I consider to be MyAdmin. I'm hoping that using MySQL will give me a better feel in using databases than with phpMyAdmin.

If your curious at all, I'm currently running on a Win XP platform. But most of the site work I do is testing, messing around and learning purposes.

Thanks ahead of time for your insights.

- Josh

RE: Opinions Needed: MyAdmin v. MySQL

I personally prefer to go through the MySQL Monitor but then I also prefer to design my database and to write my own SQL. But then I was also taught on Oracle using command line.
