php.ini

why wont apache/php read and use php.ini files in local directories? it uses the default one but If I place a php.ini file in a subdirectory it is ignored.

you can do the .htaccess php_value thing for local control...

That might work. I hate to do that, it's a pain since I allready just use php.ini files with my current host, but beggers can't be choosers.
