PHPNuke - Simple mail code

Hi there!

I'm having some trouble understanding where to place PHP SMTP authentication code within PHPNuke 7.7.

I was told by my hosting company to do the following:
__________________________________________________ _
We've prevented the user ''nobody'' on the server from sending out mails to remote addresses (php and cgi scripts generally run as user 'nobody' if you are not using phpsuexec).

Kindly use php SMTP authentication code other than simple php code or mail server will not allow you to send emails to external domains.

So now I am completely Lost. This needs to be done so that I can allow for the Confirmation emails to be sent. The Problem.....I am way too new to PHP to even remotely understand what files need to be replaced.

If anyone can assist me with this I would greatly appreciate it. I've taken a few weeks on this myself before asking, but I've only become more comfortable with inserting images and moving modules around. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sarah

RE: PHPNuke - Simple mail code

You need to goto your Settings Panel and there should be a option for you to set a smtp setting. Now It may have changed but I know for a fact php nuke 7.7 is a terribly buggy version you might want to update to a newer version of php nuke. Personally I use e107 website system might want to look that one up its alot more easier for beginners sorda a introduction to php forums... It Should be pretty Straight forward if i remember right you only need to enter your Smtp Server and your "username"aka Email and "Password". Hope that helps ya out My Aim Screename is SprflyZapp if u need some help ..
