problem in configuring php to oracle in Linux

I have a problem in configuring php with Oracle in Linux. PHP and Apache is running correctly and Oracle 9i is also installed in that Linux machine.
When I use the function OCILogon , it throws the exception "not compatible". What should I do to config php so that both php and Oracle works correctly in linux.
I am waiting for the reply.
