Session Hell

PHP4.0.6 on Apache 1.3.20 on W2Kpro. Whenever I use session_start(); I get the error "Warning: open(/tmpsess_deb5aa1cd21b323e414a15eb145ec4cc, O_RDWR) failed: m (2) in c:phpdevwwwsessiontest.php on line 2" and the variable never carries. My php.ini session info seems set corrrectly; session.save_handler=files; session.save_path=C:phpdevphptemp with the proper privileges (and, yes, I've changed the path to C:temp and it still didn't work). PHPINFO() shows the path as temp like it should... I need a hero... Are you the One?

I just went thru this a couple of days ago. Look in the "PHP Coding" forum and the topic is called "Sessions 101".
