upgrad to php5
okey downloaded the latest source for php(5.02). Already had php4x running fine. Now i installed php5.02 with following sequence of commands:
configure make make install However nothing changed. Still have the old crap, php4x. I think Apache has to be recompiled, but i don't wona go through that pain. I am sure there must be an easier way. Anybody ?

two things
#1 make sure your httpd.conf points to libphp5.so #2 restart httpd ... I dont believe it does that on a make install, and Apache needs to be restarted. DO NOT do the reload, but restart.

why not u use the xampp one u can download it here http://www.apachefriends.org/en/ then u can download according to the platform u r using now.
