Upgrading to php5

OS: Linux Red Hat 9
PHP Ver: 4.2

Hello

I have for a work to install php5.
In order for me to do that do I
have first to uninstall php 4.

alls you should have to do to uninstall is remove the directory that php sits in, that is, if you compiled it using make....

If you used an rpm to uninstall it, remove it first. You are also going to have to make sure the directive in your httpd.conf file is set to load the new module instead of the old.
