WindowsXP install problem

Hi, just got a minilaptop and installed IIS then php, but can only get html files to show on localhost, the php files are treated as html. Any clues?

I have reinstalled and done a test file which worked, then used an existing file which didn't the only difference is this
<?php works <? doesn't

Is this new in version php-5.2.9 ?

That's something in the php.ini file messed up I think, and for future reference it's WAAAY easier to use Apache, rather than IIS. I've done it with IIS before and a LOT of stuff acted weird, wasted a bunch of time trying to fix it, then tried apache and everything worked just fine right away.

You might also look in to: WampServer which I've tested and it was the easiest WAMP server I've ever setup.
