CSV / Other Format of All Countries/Continents

I want to have a drop down list of all the countries and their continents for a "Register New Account" page on my website...

Where can i get a CSV or some other format list of all the countries in the world?

same place I would - start at google.

Best place i found is asking my WebDev friends.. I found a site to download a CSV (134 Meg un zipped) of all the world's major cities and countries...

Well, I'd go to a web site that has a drop down of all the countries, and just kinda take it... I'd suggest like, hotmail or something. Those places have probably most of the major countries in the world that people would be registering from...

Ripping off other people like this is not a good idea, and it's also a sloppy habit to aim for mediocre quality -- I would never hire anyone with such a lame, short-sighted attitude.

Keep in mind that there can (and sometimes are) changes from time-to-time, so you'll need to check for updates in order to ensure you're not excluding anyone. Since this is a lot of extra work just for the purpose of keeping a list of countries up to date on a sign-in web page, you might want to consider just adding a separate field for a country that's not listed (this will be greatly appreciated by someone who's in a country that's not on your list of options for whatever reason, including an outdated ISO Country list).
