Custom-built systems vs. Third Party Code
Hey guys,
I'm not sure if this is in the right category... but anyway...
If you could please list the pros and cons of each of the two (custom-built systems and third party code) that would be greeeat
Here are my points (the most obvious heh):
Custom-Built (pros)
- software is *exactly* how you want it
- if properly documented, offers more readability
- flexible (programmer is creating it with the mindset of what it could potentially do)
- more costs (more programmers to create software)
Custom-Built (cons)
- more expensive
Third Party Code (pros)
- less time (erm, at least I think so) & less money
Third Party Code (cons)
- not as easy to modify, and if changed many other classes will be affected
Thanks,
Rho
