Do Apache/MysQL/PHP perform worse on Windows

I want the ability to develop locally using Apache/MySQL/PHP in Windows and my remote server has a similar configuration?.

Am I losing MySQL sacalability or other LAMP features with this structure??

Thanks.

RE: Do Apache/MysQL/PHP perform worse on Windows

i think there is no big problem using php, apache mysql on windows.
all these developpers have allways made a windows version of their product, and i think it's no difference then running the stuff on linux. on windows there are a lot of pre made packs so that it installs php mysql and apache on one go, safes a lot of work.

RE: Do Apache/MysQL/PHP perform worse on Windows

The server I use to develop on (before transferring to my webhost) is a Windows XP machine. My webhost is running Linux and I've never seen any differences with the performance of the code I've created. There are certain functions in PHP having to do with the server itself that would be different, I think, but I've never had to use them so in my opinion, it doesnt really matter which OS you're developing in.
