Memes
Since no one replied to my last thread, I'm going to try and explain a bit more about what I am trying to do.
I just discovered the word "meme" (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meme) and I have fallen in love with this concept. For those who don't know, a meme is sort of like a "buzzword" that is moving along virally through society. Unlike viral marketing, a meme isn't really designed, but rather, discovered.
For example, "all your base are belong to us" is the textbook definition of a meme. I still don't know what it means, but I bet anyone reading this understands what I am talking about.
My goal is to gather as many <title>'s from RSS feeds as a I can, and then use some sort of sorting algorithm in order to find the memes contained within.
I think this is a fascinating experiment, and I would to hear about anyone with a similar project, or simply chat about which algorithms are best suited for this.
Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? (another meme)
