mutex

Hello firends

From this site:

http://www.pandasoftware.com/virus_info/encyclopedia/overview.aspx?lst=det&idvirus=49817

Bagle.AG creates any of the following mutex, in order to prevent to copies of itself from being run at the same time: MuXxXxTENYKSDesignedAsTheFollowerOfSkynet-D 'D'r'o'p'p'e'd'S'k'y'N'e't' _-oOaxX|-+S+-+k+-+y+-+N+-+e+-+t+-|XxKOo-_ [SkyNet.cz]SystemsMutex AdmSkynetJklS003 ____--->>>>U<<<<--____ _-oO]xX|-S-k-y-N-e-t-|Xx[Oo-_ By creating this mutex, Bagle.AG also prevents several variants of Netsky using these mutex names from being run.

1-How creating those mutex can prevent copies of itself from being run at the same time ?

2-If netsky created a mutex,Then how Bagle can pervent it by creating mutex?

RE: mutex

1) mutexes don't prevent copies being run by themself, but instead, a second starting of the same app checks if mutex exists (if it is created) and if yes, that means that the app is already started, so it simply exits..

2) don't know (don't understand)..
