Securing an online product.

Hi

Is there a place on the www where we can secure our developed product?

If a web developer developed a nice and functional product and sell it on his website. That product can be stole by the web hosting company and resell it on their expense. The developer will then be out of luck. And if he don't put it on the web there's no way he can sell it.

So how can we (web developers) secure our product?

someone just dug up a thread in the php coding forum on this topic like 2 days ago (here). at the very least you can see your options on what you can do to encrypt the source code on a site even a little. some options allow you to license your work and have it work on a subscription or lock it down to a specific server/domain.
