I'm curious, were you able to connect from work to your home apache server? If so, did you have to UPnP any routers within your company? I used to be able to use VNC to connect to my home network, but since then I have been blocked by one of my company's routers.

No, I was always getting a timeout error, but my friend was able to connect from his work, but he works for a little IT comp. and I work for a multi national one, with alot stricter rules :p

I haven't seen anything in my access log that shows my work comp trying to connect, so I think it's an internal issue.
