Apache for Dynamic IP

Is it possible to configure Apache so I can host my own server, but not use a static IP? ie dynamic?

Thanks,

Liam

RE: Apache for Dynamic IP

Sure...apache shouldn't have a problem with that at all..

If you want to set up your own domain name, you will need to look at one of these dynamic dns services out on the net to keep your IP up to date....

RE: Apache for Dynamic IP

If you have a router, it depends if it passes on the IP address to your machine. But in general, yes, I host my website off my cable modem. If you want to host your own domain, take a look @ www.everydns.net

RE: Apache for Dynamic IP

Try www.zoneedit.com

You can host up to five (5) domains at no charge. Its cheap, its free, and they have a 'Direct Update' feature that will automatically detect your new IP (if you have a dynamic address) and update thier DNS servers accordingly. It has been running flawlessly on a Alltel DSL connection for 7 months now.
