How does one go about getting a url to resolve to my servers ip address? any help would be great!

you need to have the DNS servers of your host updated to point to the new ip address. Contact your web host about the change. If don't have a domain name yet, you will need to purchase one.

I have setup my own server with apache,php,mysql, ftp etc.. all that I need to do is get my domain name to point to my servers ip address.

you can use a service such as zoneedit.com if you don't want to run your own dns servers....

Well..I run bind on a freebsd box. Actually, I run bind on two different boxes so that I have a primary and backup name server...

Warning: DocumentRoot [/usr/wwwhome/winged-horses/public_html] does not exist
I keep getting this error message from my root when I try to load the above domain. The domain is pointed to my servers...Help, never run into this before. |

Does that path exist? If not make the directorys as in the error and put you pages there or change the path in your virtual setup to point where ever you want
