More confusing mail problems.

Hi,
A few months back i setup a dedicated server with cpanel already installed on it. My mail never seems to work for some reason. For example if you send me an email and not from a script then it will come through with no problems.

But if i have any kind of script (perl, php) it will not come through, about 2 days ago before cpanel decided to upgrade the whole system the emails worked fine from scripts on my site. After the upgrade it doesnt seem to work ever for scripts.

I think it is something to do with my exim config, does anyone know what could be causing this?

OS: Redhat Linux Enterprise
Exim: 4.3.4
Php: 4.3.x

RE: More confusing mail problems.

Anyone, it only seems to happen when cpanel upgrades (it does fresh installs of php/mysql/apache etc). At the moment the mail() function uses sendmail is it possible for it to use smtp as when i send an email from smtp it seems to work fine.

in your php.ini
try setting the mail path to point to your isp's smtp address

RE: More confusing mail problems.

i found the problem. In my localdomains file (i believe it is used for exim) it didnt have the domain i was sending to/from. It had every other domain on the server just not this one after i added it worked fine. Just need to keep adding it when exim restarts as it seems to remove it.
