Networking error

Ok I have an old win95 and was able to run Xitami on it. But now suddenly whenever it gets a request it says "Network error: no error" and I get a host not found page in my browser. Same thing w/ pinging 127.0.0.1. I've tried messing around w/ the tcp/ip properties but no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also I tried installing the new version but I get the same error.

RE: Networking error

Its been a while since I used that server, but could it be that a hostname is specified in your web server config, and it cannot resolve.

If you are cozy with linux get Bind 9 (http://www.ics.org/), or if you just run windows try Posadis (http://sourceforge.net/projects/posadis/). I ran Posadis while I was setting up a new linux server, it was sharing resources with a lot of apps so it crashed and didn't work great all the time, but on a dedicated machine it would probably do just fine. Plus it has lots of docs and a graphical config (GTK required).

RE: Networking error

Ok I'll go download. But in the meantime do you think it might have anything to do with my network settings. I got a new computer recently installed Xitami and it works fine on my new pc. I got the old pc and that's when it stopped working.

RE: Networking error

That didn't work. I have to download the new server w/ my new pc. My old cd doesn't accept disks that have been burned, and posadis is too big for a floppy. Looks like I just have to change some settings or something.

RE: Networking error

Is there anyway This can be fixed. I've lost the reboot disk, and last time I checked my computers too old for compaq to send me a new one.
