Redhat 9 -> Apache 2.0.48 -> proFTPd

Hi:

I currently am running my website coopercentral.org (24.169.144.218) on my Redhat Linux 9 box. I have Apache with PHP and MySQL setup. I have proFTPd running as well. This is just a little question but, I can access my FTP by going to:

ftp://coopercentral.org

but NOT

ftp.coopercentral.org
or
ftp://ftp.coopercentral.org

Do I have to setup a DNS record to point ftp.coopercentral.org to 24.169.144.218? Is there anything I should do for that to work? Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it!!!

Yes, you'll need to add a dns entry, though there isn't much point in it if all entries are going to the same machine.

It should take effect immediately if the change was on your server, and it isnt cached anywhere, which it shouldnt be, because it was never resolved before.
