Blogs, Forums, and Users Online

Are blogs going to become part of the official Codewalkers system, so that the Users Online list can include a "Reading so-and-so's blog?" possibility?

Also: I think the Users Online list should tell exactly where in the forum each user is. For example: "so-and-so is reading Support and Suggestions >> Blogs, Forums, and Users Online".

RE: Blogs, Forums, and Users Online

Place your mouse over a user in the users online box and it already tells you where they are in the site. The ALT tag that pops up tells you their location...

It's the title attribute, not the alt attribute.

Huh! cool.. It's title tag... it is!

But the thing is the original poster needs to see actually which forum and which post they are surfing!!! As I can see, it is useless to know it... What do you think?

My gosh, if you give that much information we might as well change the site from codewalkers to MicrosoftWalkers

Ha!

Let me give you an example. When I was participating in Codewalkers contests, I would check every morning to see if the results were posted, or to see if a question was answered in some cases. If I saw xs0 online, I would want to know if he was going to post something to the Current Contests forum. If I knew he was just browsing the PHP Coding forum, I would be able to sign off and not wait for him while refreshing codewalkers.com periodically.

RE: Blogs, Forums, and Users Online

OK, Let me give you an example.

Say I am in the server forum. A group of terrorists is waiting for me in the shell scripting forum because they have been following my routine. I then leave the server forum, not a care in the world, whistling as I go. I open the door to the shell scripting forum and BAM! I am attacked my 135 trained killers with guns and knifes. I am able to fight off 121 of them with my bare hands only to be overcome by the remaining 14 persons. As I take my last breath I sure wish that I was able to surf anonymously.

Now, See how dangerous that could be? Do you really dislike me that much that you want to see me rubbed out? Do you want to jeopardize the safety of the other codewalker members? Oh, wait, what was I thinking? That can't happen, never mind, sorry I took your time...

They called me a stalker once. I was dating Brook Shields, she had a cute pet name for me, it was "Hey You, Hiding in the Bushes". Then after awhile things went sour she started saying things like "This is private property, I calling the police if you don't leave" and stuff like that... I decided at that point to break it off and call it quits. Women, just can't understand them.

I will look into implementing this feature...

It will probably just be a 'see where everyone is at' page...
