Bug in the login system

There is a terrible bug in this site's login system. When I'm in the forums, suddenly, when I try to save my message after editing it, I receive a page informing that "you do not have permission to edit this message." That's because I'm not logged in anymore. I hope someone'll fix this mistake because it's very irritating!

RE: Bug in the login system

Could you give me some steps to reproduce the error? I don't have any problems with editing messages....

RE: Bug in the login system

It isn't just editing the messages. It happens very often, even outside the forums. I have no problems with other sites, it's just here at codewalkers.com

The newest version is that I can't logout from here. If I click on the logout button, the page reloads, but I'm still logged in.

I have no idea how YOU could reproduce the error, if the system works fine on your computer. Perhaps it has something to do with IE6?

RE: Bug in the login system

My guess is not a bug in the login system but one of Microsofts great features after an update. Sometimes it resets your security options so you are dis-allowing cookies.

GO MICROSOFT! More great features from our friends in Redmond.

That's right!!! Always remember that there are no bugs in Microsoft products. If you think you've found one, it's just a feature.

Matt,

Help us out. What was the problem and how did you fix it. This would help anyone that had a similar problem. Maybe?

RE: Bug in the login system

Well, it was a problem with the phpAdsNew. I had made a change in there and basically it was writing TONS of cookies. One for every banner view. Most browsers only accept 20 cookies per a domain. When the browser get a new cookie, it deletes an older one. This was causing the cookies for the posts and the login to get deleted....
