RE: eF
What do you think is the best forum in php, some people say it is phpBB 2.0, thoughts?
Personally I think they are all too cluttered so I wrote my own, it has no signatures, avtars or bbcode and uses very few images. My users seem to like it as well... |

RE: eF
phpBB2 is good, but yes, its too cluttered imo..for ease of installation, i would have to say Yabbse which is what i'm using now. Very similar to phpBB2, but instead of having to upload hundreds of files, there is only 3!!! soo much easier. I think eF (this forum) is one of the better ones though because of its simplicity, but thats just my opinion..
btw - any chance of an addy of our forum? |

RE: eF
For me personally, PHPBB2.0 is the best forum around:
- Easily skinable (good skins too) - Simple to use for the end-user - Very customisable - Fast loading - Clear GUI - Good funtionality - e.g. Search - Good support of tags for messages |

RE: eF
and just what do u mean when u say very customizable.
the code is IMHO just bad. ie, when it sends redirect header, it first checks if it is apache server, and sends one type of redirect header, and if it is iis, it sends other type of header. and because it is done on 100 places in 10 files, it would only be logical to write a function that sends redirect header. but NO, they check what kind of server it is EVERY time they need to send a redirect header... that is just bad code... |
