Idea!

Hey... I just had an idea, somewhat adapted from phpbuilder.com. How about we have a code critique forum, where you post your completed code and people can give you suggestions and tips on how to make it more efficient / better / operational... Just a thought

RE: Idea!

Yeah...but I don't know that the code gallery is a place for heavy critique. I would agree that a forum dedicated to such would be a better place.

Does that mean I am starting such a forum? Not quite yet. Please convince me further. At least give me a good description for it so it doesn't turn into another help forum.

RE: Idea!

I think this idea is good, here is the rules for the forum phpbuilder has:

http://www.phpbuilder.com/board/showthread.php?s=dffc3617316f871162c081754d2ea3bd&threadid=10256263

I think another forum would be better than just having everyone post in the php coding forum. This forum would be more for perfecting code, than working out bugs, or errors (as the php coding forum is mostly for)

RE: Idea!

Doesnt perfecting your code fall into the forum programming theory?

RE: Idea!

You could post your code which you think is complete, but you don't want to release it yet so you can get established php experts (such as the ones on this site) to critique your code and give you tips on making it more efficient, user friendly, secure etc... I think it's a great idea because the php code section is for when you want to release code that is ready for distribution to the masses...
