Message Center problems?

I got a private message this morning from a user to remain nameless until proven guilty to "stop spamming the forum". S/he didn't mention what forum and I haven't been on this board all weekend. I replied something like "excuse me?" as I had no idea what s/he was talking about and just now I got an email notification of a new message in my inbox. However, when I checked my inbox, no new message.

RE: Message Center problems?

1. I wouldnt trust PM's unless their from a Administrator
2. What you describe sounds like a possible mismatch somewhere. Perhaps you should PM matt?

RE: Message Center problems?

Did you get an email notification of the first PM? Maybe the email notification was just delayed?

Also...both you an the "user to remain nameless" appear to be non-spamming decent members. Maybe it was a misunderstanding?

RE: Message Center problems?

I don't think either of us are spammy, I just thought it was strange. I can't remember much interaction with nameless ever. The only thing I can think of is that s/he thought I was promoting some web hosting site by answering my own post as a different user. Or that s/he was mad that I was marking resolved questions as resolved one day. Dunno.

I got two e-mail notifications. The subject of the first was "Spam", the second was "re: re: Spam". I never got "re: re: Spam".

I'm not concerned about the interaction, and though curiousity always killed this cat, what was in the message isn't too concerning either. I just thought it might be a breadcrumb of a larger trail. Thanks for looking into this for me!

RE: Message Center problems?

I checked my junk e-mail folder and your anti-spam message was in there. I followed the directions and added codewalkers dot com to my list of safe senders.
